McGuire, Clifford William, Jr.
Clifford (Kip) McGuire, Jr., of Guilford, CT, passed away peacefully December 20, 2018 at the age of 76. Husband of Patricia (Gildea) McGuire. Father of Megan Dunphey and her husband Paul of Ridgewood, NJ and Sean McGuire and his wife Kimberly Geeslin of Bloomington, IN. Brother of Philip McGuire. Predeceased by his sister Cindy Scagliotti. Also survived by five grandchildren: Molly, John, Emme, Logan, and Hayden.
Born in Hartford, CT, son of late Clifford and Rita McGuire. Cliff graduated from Conard High School in West Hartford and Providence College, and later received an MBA from the University of Hartford. He served his country as an officer in the Navy and later retired from the Coast Guard Reserves after 24 years with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Cliff was a longtime employee of Unisource (Rourke Eno) Paper and Packaging Company as a sales representative. He was a member of Guilford’s Marina and Harbor Management Commissions, drove the senior community bus, and served as a defensive driving instructor for AARP. His favorite pastime was boating on the Connecticut River and spending time with friends from the Southern New England Chapter of the Antique Classic Boat Society. Cliff relished time spent with high school and college friends and those he was fortunate enough to meet later in life. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Friends may call Friday, January 4 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
